Luís Bittencourt & Lee Ranaldo – Quick Billy by Bruce Baillie - Live Film Soundtrack

At this year’s Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival, experimental percussionist and sound artist Luís Bittencourt joins legendary guitarist and founding member of Sonic Youth, Lee Ranaldo, for a one-of-a-kind live performance. Together, they will create an improvised soundtrack in real time for the film Quick Billy by Bruce Baillie, responding sonically to the film as it unfolds on screen.

This collaboration brings together two artists with distinct yet complementary sonic worlds — Ranaldo’s raw, textural guitar work and Bittencourt’s deep exploration of unconventional sound sources, objects, and percussive gestures. Expect an immersive audiovisual experience where boundaries between cinema, noise, music, and improvisation are blurred.
